Back in San Diego Again!

Well as you can see I am back in country again, as as a matter of fact I am back in San Diego for the Holiday Weekend.

It was much fun. As a matter of fact the comedy troupe that I am in came down and we filmed a short.

Also to their surprise they all got to meet Ed. Much fun listening to stories about Stephen Spielburg and all.

Let us not forget the visit from Gabe as well as the Party at Justin's. Much fun more on those events later...

So where was I and were did I go...

MEXICO>>>

Well as you can see this perfect rainbow in a perfect circle. Trust me I did the measurements. That being the case it seems that our adventures have come full circle.

I have also discovered that Chasing a rainbow can sometimes feel like running around in circles. But wait there is more.

Also learned in my travels. "Walter Never Live Small!" 'So what does this all mean you and what type of symbolism are you trying to share with us the people, Walter.'
Here is it. Every time you complete a revolution of your rainbow, the diameter of your next trip becomes just a little bit bigger. Helping you discover the joys and beauty of this wonderful world we live in. How about that for Mr. Deep Thought with a visual to share.

Also, before I started my travels I was given this photo here. It is called God's Eye. The major difference between these two photos are I took one and the other was taken in space. Maybe, space that will be my next trip. Anyway, when I started my travels it was dark outside and I really wasn't happy with who I was and where I was going.

So, if you can imagine the above photo is the retina of God's eye and it has a beautiful rainbow in for all of us to share. It works because the center part of this photo has blue tint.
Work with it people.

I love it when I am in hippie spiritual mode.

For those of you who are not interested in this, and what to know about the trip here we go.

This here is myself and Chad. We are in the Mexico. We are actually in a place called Cozumel.

Notice the happiness. We are the happy because I look good and the good looking girl likes the Chad.

Imagine that! All that working out for not! It seems that all I needed to do was eat pizza and grow a goatee, and I too could have had the hot chick diggin' me.

See, I wasn't lying about the Hot Chick. Her name is Georgina. She thinks the Chad is the Hot. You know why? Because he is.

Notice I am in the photo also. And thanks again to my tripod I was able to jump into the photo and share this special moment with them.

Don't feel too bad for me. I did give a local girl a ride on my scooter and she said you "Mumo Guapo!" That was good enough from my ego boost. I just think she liked the idea of my driving her to work, or maybe my Sam Malone type hair style. I told her my name was Tortuga! (That is turtle.)

This here is Coconuts! It was suggested to us by a girl from Texas who now lives in Cozumel. Her job is doing daily excursions for tourist.

She also gave us additional information if we too would like to join the island lifestyle. Who Knows?

I like to call this my "Hawkeye" Photo, and maybe I have now entered into my Hawkeye stage of my life. Did you read the opening of this blog, "very Alan Alda like If I do say so myself. If you don't believe me rent "Four Seasons."

But just to be sure please link here and take the MASH character test yourself. You'll be surprised! I was!

Well Congratulations! You made it to the end of the blog.

All I can say is have a great day, kick your feet up and remember to keep chasing that rainbow.

Love Walter

Will Barbara(Mom) Ever Fight Apollo Creed?

So as some of you know this is my Mother. It seems that she has had some medical problems lately.

So on April 20th she went in for surgery on her spine. The 3, 4, and 5 vertebrae. The surgery was 6 hours with a break in the middle so they could flip her over.

The decision for this procedure was to make it possible for her spinal cord to be decompressed.
The good news is those are the results of the operation.

But like any super surgery there is risk and sometimes set backs.
Here are some of the things I know and to answer some of the questions I have been getting.
She was only to be in ICU for about 2 days. We are now going on 12 and it looks like maybe even more than 20. Why? Well it seems that...
* The surgery on the 3 4 and 5 vertebrae deal directly with lung function as well as abdominal.
So because of this, she has been having trouble breathing on her own. They took her off the respirator April 23rd, but needed to replace it after she stopped breathing. The good news is that no damage to her mind or heart.
* She has also acquired a pneumonia mostly in the left lung. They are treating this with medicine and vacuuming the mucus out.

So in Summary...
She is in the pain. She is looking better, but it is going to take her body time to heal. She has literally a team of doctors. Heart, Lung, Blood, the Spinal Surgeon plus a team of nurses. That being said. The good news is that they keep her pretty well sedated most of the time.

The frustrating part of this ordeal is that we would like her to be better now, and now keeps getting pushed back. I was looking for now on my calendar. I can't seem to find it.

I keep sitting there like Rocky at Adrean's bed side waiting for her to wake up, look at me and say "Walter, do me a favor!" and I say in a meat-head fashion "Ya, What!" Then she says with a smile "WIN!"

Then Joe (my step-father) would say "What are we waiting for?" The Rocky music starts and we run out of the hospital training for the big fight. However, that is crazy because I don't even box.

Maybe if I woke up and told my mother to "WIN!" she would jump up out of bed and then be healed. Just like in the movies, she could then start training for her big fight with Apollo Creed, win and then hold high the Heavy Weight Championship Belt.

However, Joe says "That is just silly! Walter, If she was a boxer she would never be a heavy weight. Plus with the spinal cord surgery it would not be good for her to jump rope."
See how reality can be a buzz kill!

For those of you reading this who live in the real world, which I do visit, and realize that this is not a movie. Things are going better just slowly. Probably within the year she should be walking on her own again. She is just having a real hard time right now.

I am scheduled to be here in New Jersey until she leaving ICU which should be a few days before the 10th. See you all soon!

Hope you all have a great day and remember.

WIN! At whatever that fight might be....

Walter
