Never Wish just Proclaim!

What I did yesterday is just that. And what I do today really does not matter either, but how God views me at the end is real important. So enjoy yesterday and have a great today, and I pray that you don’t meet God tomorrow, because it is fun down here and thank you for another day down here!
Remember "It is never bad, just different"
You too have a manifest destiny !

Live your live as if the eye God is looking at YOU always, not just on Sundays!

Visiting Seven of the 13 Orginial Colonies...

Welcome to Boston!

When someone says east coast where do you geography think of? It is my belief that is mostly assumed of the New York region. Now this could upset some New Englanders, but after my visit in New England they seem upset about everything, unless their team wins.

My uncle suggested that New Englanders are upset, because they have “Puritan Roots”, and may have guilt associated with their past religious persecutions, I just think it gets so cold it freezes their happy pants. While on the other hand Pennsylvania, had a openness, and acceptance. This is believe to be set on the founder William Penn, a Quaker, and according to my tour guide of the area, painted the Quakers as righteous hippies, with William Penn, having the financial backing, by dad an Admiral for the Kings Navy. (If you have the time look up the Penn Story cool capitalist hippy.

But enough of that!

During my 3 week adventure of the 13 Original Colonies I visited 7 of them. Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and of course Pennsylvania. Can you name the remaining 6? I could not either so I looked them up for you on a google search. They are Virginia, apparently the first founded in 1607, with New Hampshire, Rhode Island, North Carolina, South Carolina, and to complete the 13 Georgia founded in 1732. How about that?

Quick call someone and put them on the spot, but first ask them “Hey, have any weed?” Then they will say “What?”

You say “Just kidding, by the way I have a game piece here that will earn us $1,000,000 if we get this question right. What are the 13 original colonies?”

We are going to break down each stop with a little fun and maybe some history, depending on my memory. Our first stop in our seven to six day journey is going to be Boston and Connecticut. I have chosen to combined the stops, because in Connecticut, I did stop for Gas on the way to Boston and on the way back. I am sure Connecticut has much more to offer except salty treats and petroleum products, but during this trip and the budget restrictions, and plus I did not know anyone in Connecticut I chose to drive thru.

Here we can look at some fabulous photos of interest points of Boston.

This is Jared and his Great, Great or Great Great Great Aunt Mary Dyer. The nice folks in Boston decided she needed some hanging, because of some different views on how God likes to party. But as you can see she has been immortalized for her religious freedom and all is ok now. Jared is still carry on her traditions, of free thinking and independent thought by being a Yankee fan in Bean Town. Strong Family Character!

Careful Jared, Massachusetts is not a State it is a commonwealth, and they might one day soon start hanging the new witches of our time "Yankee fans!"

This is just not a photo of a man sitting on a tour trolly, oh no! Take a close look at that North Terminal Garage Building at 169 Prince Street.

Yep, It is the Brink's Building. Where on January 17th, 1950, The bank noticed the deposits were missing.

Story goes, they were not sure if the check they deposited earlier was endorsed properly, and another dude accidental deposited his lucky $5 dollar bill. So correct the mistake they took all of the deposits for the day, with the intentions to return the rest of the money, once their errors were corrected.

Great sign.

Every City should have one!

Now, what historical visit would be complete without seeing a television Icon. Like true coinsure of culture, we went to Cheers!

This was the Quote "Real One" We also attended the fake one in Faneuil Hall. Both served Samuel Adams. Good Beer.

While inside, no one knew our name, but by the time we left they rang a bell, and knew we were from San Diego.

It was nice.

BeanTown Pub!
These people did not want to know anyones name. As a matter of fact it was the first time in history I saw Ladies (Women) being turned away from a bar. Crazy. Now I am no super door man, but "Oh, Yes, its ladies night and I feelin' right" WoW

But in the defense of the establishment, having a bar across from a grave yard may effect your psych just a little. Oh yea, across the street is the eternal homes for Samuel Adams and Paul Revere.

Now what trip to Boston would be complete without a sporting event? I had the privilege to attend a Boston College Game where they beat Duke. A Celtics game, where they unfortunately lost to the Jazz.

Finally a Bar to see the Jets beat the Patriots.
Good for me because if I was at Gillette Stadium when this happened, I probably would still be in a hospital today.

Boston has much passion for its sport teams.
And so far there is no better place in the world to take in a game.

Dudley House at Harvard University.
Cambridge Square was great! As a matter of fact I believe I had the best Mexican food in my life. Go figure. Anyway, this nice lady open the door when I was trying to look collegiate. But that was ok, the cool part was when the security guard, who's photo I took went totally insane. She must of still been upset about the Celtics the night before.

It was these little encounters that made me feel that maybe there is something in the water that makes people angry in Boston.

The Freedom Trail. It is where the Revolution began and our country was born.

I must say Thank you Boston for a wonderful time. If you ever have the opportunity to go, GO!

Thank you Brian for your home and tour guide.

Somewhere Under The Rainbow....

11/28/06

It’s a well known fact: relationships are dynamic and sometimes can be hurtful.

At times people can be self-serving or secretive in the interest of self preservation.

Occasionally people do not want to admit the answers they seek may be harmful. However, strength and courage must prevail when questioning one’s mate.

Let not that fear prevent you from quarreling with the gritty facts.
If you don’t want to hear the answer then you probably already know the reality.

It is also a well known fact that invasion of privacy is grounds for constitutionally based malice.

San Francisco, It's a cable car!

As the Holiday Weekend Continues…
What Northern California Trip would be complete without a cable car ride. Note “Cable Car” not trolley. Trolleys are different. How different, well one thing is for sure they don’t run on cables.

So as the day continued lunch in China town and later lunch at Fisherman’s Warf. With a later lunch still at John’s Grill in the “Maltese Falcon Room” where the Dashiell Hammett Society meet and discus the enjoyment of the Maltese Falcon. Now I have never read or saw the movie, but I am going to have to broaden my cannon and take time out, so that I may really appreciate my meal.

Also saw the “Rockefeller Center Replica Tree” in Union Square. Very nice tree and Macy’s looks nice there too. As a matter of fact the all the people, except for those who were striking against the Department store, really seemed to enjoy their day.

Speaking of commerce camera shopping in China Town vs. Fisherman’s Warf is quite a price difference. Believe it or not the ocean front property of the Warf yielded a lower price on the same products. Results. I bought nothing. But much fun anyway.

Well have a great day and enjoy the people ! Posted by Picasa

Christmas Tree Hunter

Happy Black Friday…

While many people were saving money on their Holiday Shopping List, I went hunting. My prey was the Merry Christmas Tree. Many people have stopped this practice of chopping down their own tree, probably because in California our state is desert, and it would kind of look silly having to sing Christmas carols around a cactus.

However, if you just take a little time and drive well, I don’t know 8 hours north from San Diego you will be in a little area known as Los Gatos. “Los Gatos” in Spanish means the cat.

Which of course reminds me of a little story back in High School. I took Spanish, because French seamed less advantageous to learn since Mexico is so close and France is so far away. But anyway the memorably part of the class were our oral reports. It seemed that I could not use the word “panocha” in class. This was a no no. I instead I needed a substitute word. I chose Cat, or Los Gatos. Therefore, every report I gave was based on the fact “Me gusta, comer los gatos.” In translation “I like to eat cats”, and well you can figure out the rest.

This being said, I am now the great hunter of the Christmas tree, I still love los gatos, but more importantly I enjoy the purity of tree hunting. As you can see in this photo this tree gave up quite a fight. It as tree hunters say, she’s a big one.

Now before you crazy tree hugging anti-fir nuts freak out. Tree hunting is done on a tree hunting farm, much like farm raised fish, but without the mercury. Note to mention without all the hooks either and you really don’t need to get up early to catch a tree, probably because they are stationary. Not to hard to spot too, because after all they are trees.

So how is this with the people? Well, cutting down a Christmas tree is a wonderful time to spend with the people. Cutting it on a farm takes away the legislation that is sometimes needed in tree removal. So sleep in, have a nice breakfast, then take a nap, have some after thanksgiving leftovers and instead of fighting people for $5 off that neat wigit, make it apart of your holiday traditions to Hunt and Kill your own Christmas Tree. Posted by Picasa

Thanksgiving! A great day to be with the people!

Happy Thanksgiving, and welcome to “He is with the People” Today is one of those days that we travel near and far to be with the people that we cherish the most. Thanksgiving a time where we are not only thankful for our good fortune, but most importantly thankful for the relationships we have with those special people in our lives.

Being arguably one of the purest human driven holidays it allows is signals the start of the Holiday Season. Unlike the next month of special holidays that occur there are no special requirements needed for Thanksgiving except setting time for dinner. No presents, no religious preferences, no “Hey man that is the wrong size” Thanksgiving gives us something more. Non-pressured time with family and friends.

So People.. Happy Thanksgiving, and see you soon, for maybe soon we will be thankful for meeting each other. Posted by Picasa

Back From First Journey!

Hey, Back and now reviewing the notes of the adventures with the people.
